Nikhil Yadav, a final-year student at the Northern Regional Institute of Printing Technology (NRIPT), has been declared as the winner of the prestigious T Prasad Memorial Gold Medal at the fourth annual T Prasad Memorial Print Competition, held on June 21-22, 2025. Organized by the Offset Printers’ Association (OPA), this renowned event celebrates the legacy of T Prasad, an influential educator and NRIPT principal from 1982 to 1993, whose efforts revolutionized print education across India.

Open to all NRIPT students enrolled in the diploma in printing technology, the competition showcases cutting-edge advancements in the field. The event commenced with a rigorous preliminary written test, featuring multiple-choice questions assessed by a distinguished five-member jury: print consultant Anubhava Shiksharthi from Nagpur, Beer Bahadur Singh, HOD at GP Patna, print technologist Sunil Kumar Joshi from New Delhi, former Times of India Deputy GM Sumesh Sharma, and print entrepreneur Sanjay Kathuria from New Delhi.

From the preliminary round, three final-year students—Nikhil Yadav, Mohd. Arbaz, and Saloni Gupta—advanced to the final oral presentation in NRIPT’s seminar hall. Each finalist was given five minutes to prepare a speech on one of five topics assigned by the jury. Performances were judged on content accuracy, presentation finesse, confidence, responses during a Q&A session, and an audience poll, with deductions for presentations shorter than five minutes or exceeding seven minutes.

Nikhil Yadav’s exceptional delivery secured him the top honor, earning him the title of Top Print Student of the Year 2025, a gold medal, and a Rs. 25,000 cash prize. The certificate was presented jointly by Prof. (Dr) Sanjay Srivastava, Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari, and Prof. (Dr) Rajendrakumar Anayath, OSD Government of Haryana and former Vice Chancellor of DCRUST, Sonepat. The formal award ceremony is slated for later this year.

The T Prasad Memorial Print Competition continues to foster innovation and excellence, inspiring students to lead the charge in the dynamic printing industry, in line with T Prasad’s visionary contributions.
