NGOs campaign to help Kanav getting generous response from donors

Ludhiana, April 22, 2023: Narinder Mohan Sharma, Whole Time Director, Eastman Cast & Forge Limited, Ludhiana, has donated Rs.5 lakh with a motive to help ailing 14 months old Kanav.

Sharma, on Saturday, presented a cheque of Rs.5 lakh drawn in the name of the ailing child Kanav Jangra to Sanjeev Arora, MP (Rajya Sabha) who runs Krishna Pran Breast Cancer Care Charitable Trust over the years.

While presenting this cheque of donation, Sharma stated that he is making this donation on an appeal for contribution to an ailing child Kanav Jangra who is under treatment at AIIMS.” This is very noble cause of yourself for issuing an appeal to the public for donation”, he told Arora while presenting the cheque.

City-based NGOs Krishna Pran Breast Cancer Charitable Trust and Samvedna Trust have launched “Let's Save Kanav - Help Before It's Too Late” Campaign to save the life of 14 months old Kanav hailing from Delhi. The only one-time treatment of this disease is a gene therapy called ZolgenSMA which costs Rs.17.50 crore (2.1 million USD). Kanav’s parents- Amit and Garima, belong to a lower middle-class family and they cannot afford such costly treatment.

Giving this information here today, Arora said they have started the campaign two days ago and within these two days the total funds have risen from Rs.7 Crores to around Rs.9.5 cores. Thus, their dedicated efforts and ongoing campaign has started yielding results.

Arora thanked donors for donating generously for the noble cause. He reiterated that donation qualifies for CSR and if for any reason the treatment cannot be done then they will refund the donated money.
