NGO Tammana Marks 18 Years of Service with ASHIA 18 Celebration

Chandigarh, September 6, 2026: NGO Tammana marked its 18th anniversary with ASHIA 18 – “18 Shades of Fun”, bringing together its team for an evening of celebration, recognition and gratitude in Zirakpur.

Over the past 18 years, Tammana has taken its work to some of the most neglected areas, slums and schools, working to make them cleaner, safer and more liveable while reaching thousands of lives through education, healthcare and community initiatives.

The celebration was called the Colour Party, with team members dressed in different colours and bringing trays of snacks matching their respective colours. A colourful rainbow cake was also cut as part of the celebrations.

The evening began with a meet and greet, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting by Founder President Isha Kakaria, Jaskaran Singh, the eldest and youngest participants, marking the beginning of another chapter in the organisation’s journey.

A special surprise for the team was the presentation and release of Tammana’s NGO song, “Hum Ek Tammana,” contributed and presented by Arvind Kumar Bhardwaj.

The organisation recognised the dedication and contribution of its members through various awards. Priyanka Garg was honoured as Tammanaite of the Year and presented with the title sash.

The Seven Star Awards were presented to Nimrat Singh, Yuvika Murali, Saurabh Gulati, Harpreet Kaur Saini, Vanita Kohli and Arvind Kumar Bhardwaj. Jaskaran Singh, Naveen Pabreja and Meenakshi Mahajan received the Superstar Awards, while Nimrat Singh was recognised as SPOC of the Year.

Naveen Pabreja was recognised for handling the maximum Donate a Drop of Love (DDL) cases. Naveen Pabreja and Nimrat Singh were also honoured as Red Warriors for their contribution towards blood donation initiatives.

A Decade Completion Award was presented to Arvind Kumar Bhardwaj for completing 10 years with the organisation. Long-standing associations were also recognised, with Meenakshi Mahajan completing 14 years and Jaskaran Singh completing 18 years with Tammana.

This year, 30 interns were certified from various universities and institutions, taking the total number of interns onboarded by Tammana to 350 till date. Experience certificates were also presented to members based on their productivity, contribution and association with the organisation.

As Tammana completed 18 years, the organisation entered its 19th year with the same enthusiasm and commitment with which its journey began.

Towards the end of the celebration, all danced their hearts out, adding a memorable and joyful close to the evening.

The celebration concluded with a group photograph and festivities, celebrating 18 years of memories while looking ahead to many more years of community work and creating smiles.

NGO Tammana continues its work across the Tricity through initiatives in education, health, environment and community welfare, driven by volunteers and community support.
