Chandigarh, October 25, 2025: Padma Shri Rajinder Gupta, founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Trident Group and newly elected to the Rajya Sabha from Punjab, paid a courtesy visit to Hon’ble Vice President of India C. P. Radhakrishnan in New Delhi. This marked Gupta’s first official visit after being elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Punjab on October 16, 2025. Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, who is also the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, welcomed Rajinder Gupta as a Rajya Sabha member and congratulated him on his new constitutional responsibility.

Gupta called on the Vice President to seek his guidance and blessings as he prepares to assume his responsibilities as a Member of the Rajya Sabha. Sh Gupta was accompanied by his wife, Madhu Gupta. The meeting is being viewed as a courtesy visit underscoring Gupta’s commitment to bringing his vast industrial experience to public service and national development.

After the meeting, Gupta expressed gratitude for the Vice President’s warm reception and encouraging words and said that he was “deeply honoured to receive the Vice President’s blessings” he reaffirmed his resolve to work for the welfare of the people of Punjab and contribute to the nation’s progress.

Padma Shri awardee Rajinder Gupta, is known for his significant contributions to India’s textile and paper sectors. Under his leadership, Trident has emerged as a global brand, symbolizing innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship rooted in Punjab’s industrial growth.
