Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust organized the 27th Annual Inter College Debate on the topic “Is Technology Increasing People’s Quality of Life” as a part of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru’s 136th birthday celebrations at Guru Nanak Girls College, Model Town, Ludhiana. A total 13 teams from various colleges of Ludhiana participated in the debate.

Ludhiana, October 28, 2025: Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust organized the 27th Annual Inter College Debate on the topic “Is Technology Increasing People’s Quality of Life” as a part of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru’s 136th birthday celebrations at Guru Nanak Girls College, Model Town, Ludhiana. A total 13 teams from various colleges of Ludhiana participated in the debate.
On this occasion, Gurbir Singh Grewal, President, Guru Nanak Education Trust, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest. The Debate was attended by the members of Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust and other educationists.
The speakers presented their view on the topic confidently and fearlessly and displayed their oratory skills. It was a lively debate that had all shades of arguments and counter arguments, from pessimism to ultimate optimism. Well researched instances of persons and personalities, who changed the world by sheer conviction and perpetual goodness, sparked the motion. Not only that, the intelligentsia present was enthralled by the performance of the participants. The chief guest complimented the participants for their brilliant performance. He was impressed by the logical and analytical approach of the speakers.
The following were the winners: 1st Prize - Yashika Jethi, Guru Nanak Girls College; 2nd Prize - Prakirti Kumari, Ramgarhia Girls College; 3rd Prize - Madhav Sharma – Shree Atam Vallab Jain College; and Consolation Prize - Swapanjeet Kaur, Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women.
The overall running trophy won by Guru Nanak Girls College, Model Town, Ludhiana.
The Nehru Trophy and the individual prizes will be presented to the winners on 12th November, 2025 during the annual function being held by Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust, Ludhiana
