New Delhi, July 4 (IANS) A Suvidha Camp organised by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Saturday received 60 grievances from residents and these were promptly taken up by the departments concerned, said an official.

The Suvidha Camp at the NDCC Convention Centre, Jai Singh Road, provided residents and service users with a dedicated single-window platform for information, facilitation, and prompt grievance redressal, said an official statement.

One of the key features of the Suvidha Camp was the opportunity for citizens to interact directly with senior departmental officers through face-to-face consultations, enabling quicker understanding and effective resolution of their concerns, it said.

In cases involving policy-related matters, citizens were informed about the prescribed procedures and expected timelines for their disposal, ensuring greater transparency and public confidence, it said.

The 60 complaints related to the Personnel, Civil Engineering, Horticulture, Public Health, Enforcement, Commercial, Tax, and Estate Departments. Besides grievance registration, hundreds of residents and service users visited the camp to seek information about various civic services, public welfare initiatives, and citizen-oriented facilities offered by NDMC, said the statement.

More than 100 officers and officials representing 30 departments participated in the camp, ensuring seamless coordination and expeditious disposal of grievances under one roof. The departmental help desks were personally supervised by the respective Heads of Departments, reflecting NDMC's strong emphasis on accountability, efficiency, and responsive public service.

As part of its ongoing digital governance initiatives, NDMC has also established the Jan Suvidha Portal, a contactless and citizen-friendly online grievance redressal system, the statement said.

The portal enables residents and service users to register complaints, monitor the status of their grievances in real time, and submit feedback on the quality of service. Accessible through the NDMC website, the portal serves as an effective mechanism for ensuring transparent, efficient, and time-bound grievance resolution, it said.

In addition, NDMC continues to facilitate grievance registration through its official social media platforms, providing citizens with multiple convenient channels for communication. Complaints received through these platforms are closely monitored by the concerned Heads of Departments and are addressed on priority to ensure prompt action.

The Suvidha Camp initiative underscores NDMC's unwavering commitment to strengthening citizen engagement, enhancing the quality of civic service delivery, and creating an accessible, transparent, and responsive governance framework that places citizens at the centre of municipal administration.
