Ludhiana, October 16, 2025: National Commission for Women (NCW) member Mamta Kumari on Thursday directed police to resolve all pending women's grievances heard during her visit within 15 days.

Kumari held a meeting with women from diverse backgrounds, attended by officials  from district administration,Commissionerate Police, Ludhiana Rural police, and Khanna police. 

During the session, women from various areas shared grievances related to domestic violence, dowry and other harassment issues. Of the 44 complaints received, majority of them were settled on the spot, with strict orders issued for the remaining cases.

Kumari assured swift resolution and directed the district magistrate to form a committee to monitor each case. She also instructed police officials to take firm action against perpetrators of atrocities against women.

"Women must register complaints fearlessly. The NCW is committed to delivering justice to every woman," Kumari emphasized.She urged them to prioritize women’s welfare, address their challenges promptly, and ensure the effective implementation of support programs. She also spoke about the 'Tere Mere Sapne' centre, a significant step toward empowering youth for successful marriages. She highlighted that these centres provide expert counselling on emotional, social, and psychological aspects of marriage, equipping individuals with the tools for healthy family relationships.
