NCC, Panjab University Organises Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse

The NCC Unit of Panjab University, under the 2nd Chandigarh NCC Battalion, organised an awareness programme to educate the community and the youth about the harmful effects of drugs and the importance of a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

NCC, Panjab University Organises Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse

Chandigarh, September 21, 2025: The NCC Unit of Panjab University, under the 2nd Chandigarh NCC Battalion, organised an awareness programme to educate the community and the youth about the harmful effects of drugs and the importance of a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

The programme, held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., began at the Student Centre, Panjab University, and continued through the hostels and Sector 14 market. Around 60 NCC cadets, along with NCC staff, actively participated in the drive. The awareness activities included a rally, interactive sessions, and poster displays.

During the event, NCC teams reached out to students and residents in hostels and marketplaces to spread the message against drug abuse. Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Coordinator/ANO, NCC Panjab University, Mr. Jatin SUO, UOs and NCC cadets addressed the gathering and highlighted the adverse impact of drugs on youth and society. They also appreciated the efforts of NCC cadets for taking this initiative to promote a healthy lifestyle.

The campaign concluded with a pledge by cadets and participants to work collectively towards building a drug-free society.
