NCC GIRL CADETS UNDERGO SPECIAL TRAINING AT DHOLEWAL ARMY CANTONMENT, LUDHIANA
A total of 78 girls cadets from the Ludhiana Group under the Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Chandigarh (PHHP&C) Directorate of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) attended a special Army Attachment Camp held at Dholewal Army Cantonment, Ludhiana, from 1st October to 12th October 2025.

Ludhiana, October 13, 2025: A total of 78 girls cadets from the Ludhiana Group under the Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Chandigarh (PHHP&C) Directorate of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) attended a special Army Attachment Camp held at Dholewal Army Cantonment, Ludhiana, from 1st October to 12th October 2025.
The aim of the camp was to expose the cadets to military life and give them real-time experience of army training, especially for those aspiring to join the Indian Armed Forces as Officer Cadet Women (OCW).
The camp was organized under the directives of Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh, AVSM, VSM, Director General NCC, with the mentorship of Maj Gen JS Cheema, Additional Director General, NCC, and Brig Paramjit Singh Cheema, SM, VSM, Group Commander, NCC Ludhiana.
Col Rakesh Singh Chauhan, Commanding Officer, 3 Punjab Girls Battalion NCC Ludhiana, played a key role in planning, preparing, and facilitating the participation of cadets in the camp.
During the 12-day camp, the cadets underwent intense physical training, drill, and weapon handling sessions. They also received SSB (Services Selection Board) guidance and training, leadership development lectures, and participated in multiple team-building activities aimed at preparing them for future defence selections.
The curriculum included outdoor activities, motivational sessions, and war movies screenings, aimed at instilling discipline, leadership, and patriotism among the cadets.
On the final day, a cultural programme was organised where cadets showcased their regional talent by performing Bhangra, Nati, and Haryanvi folk songs, highlighting the cultural diversity of the group.
Overall, the Army Attachment Camp at Dholewal was a highly inspiring and enriching experience for all the girl cadets. It gave them valuable insights into the life of an army officer and strengthened their resolve to join the Indian Armed Force.
