NCC Cadets celebrate Saragarhi Day at Saragarhi Memorial in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, September 12, 2025: The NCC cadets of this border region solemnly commemorated Saragarhi Day at the historic Saragarhi Memorial, honouring the extraordinary bravery and sacrifice of the 21 Sikh soldiers of the 36th Sikh Regiment who valiantly fought in the Battle of Saragarhi on 12 September 1897.
During the event, 50 NCC cadets along with one Officer, 3 Associate NCC Officers and 5 PI Staff of 13 Punjab Battalion NCC paid their respects by laying wreath and observing a moment of silence at the memorial. Reflecting on the courage and unwavering determination of the soldiers who defended the Saragarhi post against overwhelming odds, the ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the values of duty, honour, and sacrifice.
The cadets were also briefed on the historical significance of Saragarhi Day, learning about the heroic stand of the 21 soldiers who faced thousands of invaders, embodying the spirit of resilience and patriotism. The briefing highlighted the battle’s legacy as a symbol of valour and its enduring inspiration for NCC Cadets.
In a solemn pledge, the NCC cadets vowed to uphold the ideals of the brave warriors, committing to serve the nation with dedication, integrity, and courage.
