The first workshop of the region about “Outcome based Accreditation” being held at Punjab Technical University.
Kapurthala, July 29, 2013: The first workshop of the region about “Outcome based Accreditation” concluded at Punjab Technical University on Sunday evening. This four days workshop organised by Punjab Technical University (PTU) in collaboration with National Board of Accreditation (NBA) from July 25to 28. It is notable that PTU was selected as nodal centre of NBA for training programme.
Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu, Dean Academics PTU was the chief guest in the valedictory ceremony. Dr. Sidhu said that this workshop has created awareness about NBA accreditation and quality education among the institutes. He ensured that in coming times, the nodal centre PTU, through its proper follow up will assist the colleges in upgrading their academic standards and getting the NBA accreditation. 34 participants from about 25 institutes from different universities of Punjab took part in this workshop.
During this workshop Dr. Koteshwar Rao, key speaker of the workshop, interacts with the participants through webinar on the topic of Overview of Programme accreditation and NBA accreditation parameters. Dr. D. V. Padole and Dr. Parteek Kumar (NBA Resource Persons) interacted with participants and defined the parameters of accreditation. In the end of the workshop participants gave their presentations on the assignments provided to them during this workshop.
Dr Balkar Singh, Director Colleges PTU and workshop coordinator, Er. Ekonkar Singh Johal, Deputy Registrar and co-coordinator, and Assistant Registrar Gaganjot Singh Mallhi, Paramjit Kaur, Naresh Kumar were present there.
