Anandpur Sahib (Punjab), May 6 (IANS) Bharatiya Rashtrawadi Party (BRP) founder, Navjot Kaur Sidhu, on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the Punjab government over the recent blast incidents in Jalandhar and Amritsar, raising serious questions on Intelligence failure and deteriorating law and order in the state.

Speaking to IANS, on Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann accusing BJP of the twin blasts, Sidhu said that blaming any single political party for such incidents was not justified, but at the same time questioned the accountability of the ruling dispensation. "You can’t say that any particular political party is responsible for this. It cannot be attributed to any one party. But where was your Intelligence?" she asked, targeting the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

She further questioned the narrative of political blame, saying, "Is the state’s Chief Minister a BJP member? Are you a BJP member? If they are facilitating it, does that mean Punjab is being governed by them? They don’t even have MPs or MLAs," she remarked, dismissing allegations.

Sidhu also raised concerns over alleged unchecked migration and demographic changes, urging authorities to be vigilant. "You should see for yourself who is coming into Punjab — are you even filtering them? Every day, new slums are being added. Have you identified them? Where are they coming from, and who are they?" she said, adding that it was the responsibility of the state machinery to monitor such developments.

Taking a sharp dig at the Punjab Government and Chief Minister Mann, she said Intelligence agencies must be more proactive. "This is your responsibility. You have the Intelligence agencies — you should get it done," she asserted.

Sidhu alleged a worsening security situation in the state, claiming that incidents of crime and fear were on the rise. "From morning to evening, you hear disturbing reports. Children of Sikhs are being kidnapped, instigated. Whether you are sitting in a shop or at home, someone can come and shoot — is this your law and order?" she questioned.

She also sought answers on policing and surveillance, asking, "Where are your police? Where is your Intelligence?"

Her remarks come amid heightened concerns following recent explosions in parts of Punjab, which have triggered political sparring and public anxiety.
