Nauni varsity to hold sale of fruit plants from 15 Dec

The Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni will hold its annual sale of planting material to the farmers from December 15 onwards. The sale will be strictly conducted on a first come-first serve basis at the university nurseries in the main campus at Nauni, Krishi Vigyan Kendras at Shimla, Solan and Kinnaur and research stations of the university located in different parts of the state.

The Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni will hold its annual sale of planting material to the farmers from December 15 onwards. The sale will be strictly conducted on a first come-first serve basis at the university nurseries in the main campus at Nauni, Krishi Vigyan Kendras at Shimla, Solan and Kinnaur and research stations of the university located in different parts of the state.

This year, the total number of plants available for sale at the university and outstations is over 1.80 lakh. Various varieties of apple seedling and rootstock, kiwi, pomegranate, apricot, peach, nectarine, cherry, walnut, persimmon, pear, plum will be provided to the farmers during this sale.

However, for the convenience of the farmers from Lahaul and Spiti and Pangi, the plant sale from the Regional Horticultural Research and Training Station at Bajaura commenced earlier this week. The dates of annual sale of fruit plants at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Chamba will also be notified in the coming days.

The various Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK) and Research Stations of the university located in different parts of the state will also be holding plant sales from December 15 onwards.
