National Technology Day celebrated at SAIF PU

Chandigarh, May 13, 2022: SAIF/CIL PU celebrated National Technology Day on Thursday under the Chief Patronship of Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor PU and Prof. Sudhir Kumar, Dean Research inaugurated the event. The Technology Day was attended by faculty members, research scholars and students of various departments. On this occasion, Dr. Yogesh Nagpal, Founder and Managing Director, Winsome IP Solutions Ltd. delivered an expert lecture on “Technology Landscaping and White Space Analysis”. Dr. Nagpal delineated the current scenario and importance of protecting intellectual property in today’s fast paced technological research. He highlighted the roadmap about how an innovative research idea can be monetized into a successful technology if necessary and timely attention is paid in protecting the IP rights. Prof. GR Chaudhary, Director, SAIF/CIL encouraged the students to pursue a holistic approach in doing translational research which is not just confined in the labs but can reach out to the large masses.
The lecture was followed by a poster making competition, coordinated by Dr. Rajeev Kumar, Warden Boys Hostel 1, on the theme “Impact of Technology in Daily Life” where a good number of MSc and PhD students participated. Dean Student welfare, Prof. Jagtar Singh awarded best poster prizes to Alka, Aman Mittal, Annu, Dhriti Bragta, Pallavi Narania and Ishneet Kaur. Dr. Ramesh Sharma, Coordinator of the event, thanked all the guests, faculty members, students and staff of SAIF/CIL for their participation and cooperation in organizing the event.
