National Service Scheme of PU gave message of growing on duty path by planting saplings and cleaning campaign on service day

Chandigarh, September 17, 2022: On the occasion of the birthday of Honorable Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, the entire nation is celebrating it as "Service Day". Giving information about the program, National Service Planning Program Officer, Dr. Richa Sharma said that while cleaning the hostel-5, a cleaning campaign was carried out in the morning. Under the leadership, plantation and cleanliness drive was also carried out in UICT. Shramdaan of volunteers continued in various hostels also. 

Program Officer Dr Simran Preet informed that the volunteers planted saplings in the International Hostel including Women's Hostel No. 8 and 9 and gave the message of saving the environment.Jagtar Singh, who was the chief guest in the campaign conducted at various places, said that every citizen of the country should consider keeping the country clean and planting saplings as his duty and the example of this duty is presented in front of the entire nation in the form of National Service Scheme. He said that we are proud of our volunteers that they give a message to the society at all times by running such campaigns, while Sudhir Kumar, Dean of Research in Yusol said that India is now on the path of duty and the nation is moving forward. The important duty of carrying is on the shoulders of the youth. 

Program officers Dr. Richa Sharma, Dr. Vivek Kumar and Dr. Simran Preet, Hostel No. 5 Warden Dr. JS Sehrawat, Student Welfare Dean (Women) Dr. Rupali and Senators Praveen Goyal, Dr. Arun Thakur and Dr. Dr. Yojna Rawat from Horticulture Department was present. Indira Gandhi NSS Awardees Sandeep Kumar, Amit Kumar, Jasmeet played an important role in the successful operation of this campaign. 80 volunteers participated in the programme.
