National seminar on analytical aspects of dynamics begins in HPCU
Dharamshala, November 22, 2019: The two-day Seminar titled "National Seminar on Analytical Aspects of Dynamics", organised by the Department of Mathematics, Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) began today at the Temporary Academic Block, Shahpur near here Today. Researchers from different research institutes, IITs, NITs, Universities as well as the students and faculty of CUHP took active part in today's proceedings. The Seminar began with Sanskrit chants by Dr. K.Srivastava, DST-Women Scientist, followed by welcome address by the Convener Prof.Rakesh Kumar, Dean School of Mathematics, Computers and Information Science, and the Organising Secretary Dr.S.K.Srivastava. They stressed the importance of Mathematics in other branches of Science, including Physics, Chemistry as well as Engineering. They also noted that this kind of gathering serves important purposes, of attracting the younger students to the fields of research as well as allowing interactions between researchers from different fields of study, paving way for inter-disciplinary research. The gathering was also addressed by Prof. B.C. Chauhan, Dean School of Physical and Material Sciences, Guest of Honour Prof. M.K. Saxena, followed by the Presidential address by Prof. Baldev Bhai Sharma. They also welcomed the participants and expressed hope that this seminar shall lead to fruitful contributions to the field of science. Today's lectures on specialized topics were, by Prof. S. D. Sharma, University of Jammu, on Functional Analysis on Hardy- Bergmann spaces, Dr. K. Srivastava, DST-Women Scientist, CUHP, on Paracontact Geometry, and on Gamma Semirings by Prof. T. R. Sharma, HPU. On the application side, talks by Dr. J. Kumar, CUHP, on High temperature Superconductivity, by Prof. A. Prakash on applications of the newly developed Fractional Calculus in Engineering, and on Data Mining by Prof. S. Gour, JEC Jaipur informed the audience of their technological applications.
