New Delhi/Jalandhar, October 7, 2013: The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Dwarka Courts, New Delhi has on Friday convicted Dr.S.C.Mittal, then Principal Scientific Officer & Head of Division(Documents) & V.K.Khanna, then Principal Scientific Officer, both of Central Forensic Science Laboratory(CFSL), CBI, New Delhi and Ramesh Sharma(private person), resident of Delhi in a corruption case.

CBI had registered a case on 20.09.2005. It was alleged that Dr.S.C Mittal, V.K. Khanna and  Ramesh Sharma entered into a criminal conspiracy during May, 2005 to August, 2005 to give undue advantage to Ramesh Sharma(private person). In pursuance of the criminal conspiracy, Dr. S.C Mittal and V.K. Khanna, both of CFSL abused their official position as public servants and framed a report giving wrong opinion as experts and forwarded the said report to Addl. SHO, Defence Colony Police Station, New Delhi for submission in the Court of Metropolitan Magistrate, Patiala House Courts, New Delhi in order to favour. Ramesh Sharma co-accused.

After thorough investigation, a charge-sheet was filed on 21.12.2006  against Dr. S.C Mittal, then Principal Scientific Officer & Head of Division (Document);  V.K. Khanna, then Principal Scientific Officer, both of CFSL,CBI, New Delhi and Ramesh Sharma, Private Person U/s 120-B r/w 167 IPC, section 15 r/w section 13(1)(d) of PC Act.

The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Dwarka Courts, New Delhi today held guilty all the accused and taken them into Judicial Custody.

The quantum of sentence will be pronounced on October 11 this year. www.cityairnews.com
