National Lecture on 'Women's Empowerment and the Literature of Mahadevi Verma' at BMU

Rohtak, March 25, 2026: The Department of Hindi, under the Faculty of Humanities at Baba Mastnath University (BMU), organized a national lecture on the theme of 'Women's Empowerment and the Literature of Mahadevi Verma.'
Prof. Lalchand Gupta was the keynote speaker, while Dr. Madhukant was the chief guest. Distinguished guests present included former IG Dr. Harish Kumar, Director of the Haryana Sahitya Akademi Mr. Dharmadev Vidyarthi, and Vice-Chancellor Prof. B.M. Yadav.
Prof. Lalchand Gupta described Mahadevi Verma's literature as a powerful expression of women's empowerment, stating that her works are not merely emotional in nature, but serve as a resonant voice for women's self-respect, freedom, and sensitivity. He added that, through her literature, Mahadevi Verma bestowed upon women a new identity and a sense of self-realization.
Distinguished guest Dharmadev Vidyarthi highlighted the relevance of Mahadevi Verma's work by shedding light on the status of women within the current social landscape.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. B.M. Yadav illuminated the life and personality of Mahadevi Verma, presenting her profound sensitivity and humanistic perspective. He remarked that her writing represents a unique confluence of compassion, empathy, and human values, serving as a guiding light for the present generation.
