National Immunization Pulse Polio Round from March 3 to 5

Ludhiana, February 27, 2024: The district would observe the National Immunization round of Pulse Polio from March 3 to 5 in which 4.78 lakh children between the age group of 0-5 years would be administered pulse polio drops.

Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney said that concerted efforts would be made to ensure every child under 5 years of age gets the Polio vaccine. She said that during the drive, 1070 booths would be set up in the district. A total of 1535 house-to-house, 80 transit and 98 mobile teams would be formed to achieve the target. She said that these teams would work under the observation of 506 supervisors.  She further said that these teams would cover nearly 11.67 lakh houses.

Sawhney directed the officials of the education and program office to sensitize the parents of children by holding meetings with them regarding the polio campaign and ensuring the administrating of drops to each child. She also asked the officials from all departments to work together to ensure the success of the drive.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the District Task Force was also held in Bachat Bhawan. Assistant Commissioner Upinderjit Kaur Brar, Civil Surgeon Jasbir Singh Aulakh and others were present.
