National conference on Neurophysiology held

Ludhiana, November 25, 2023: Department of Neurology at DMCH organized a National conference on Neurophysiology, IAN-CNPCON 2023, 6th Conference of Neurophysiology Subsection of Indian Academy of Neurology

The conference was formally inaugurated by the  Chief Guest of the conference, Bipin Gupta, Secretary DMCH Managing Society along with Treasurer Mukesh Kumar Verma, Principal Dr Sandeep Puri, Dr P M Sobti observer PMC, Guest of honor, Dr Debashish Chaudhary President, Indian Academy of Neurology, Dr Ravishankar Naik, Chairperson IAN subsection Neurophysiology and Convener Dr Jayanti Kalita.


Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society congratulated and appreciated the efforts of the Department of Neurology to conduct this national conference .

Dr Gagandeep Singh Professor and Head, Department of Neurology, The Organizing Chairperson welcomed all the delegates  and said that this national conference provides a platform to all the neurologists to share and exchange their knowledge about the recent advancements in the field of Neurology.


Dr Rajinder Bansal and Dr B S Paul, the Organizing Secretaries highlighted that this conference was a mix of various hands-on workshops on nerve conduction studies and electromyography, conducted by renowned international faculty, Dr S. Nandedkar (USA), Dr Khushnuma M (Bombay Hospital), Dr Vinod Puri. Didactic lectures were delivered by Dr Radhika Manohar, Dr Umapathi N Thiruganam (Singapore). Quiz and poster sessions were conducted for the students. Electrophysiological-pathological conferences and debates were also presented.


Dr Monika Singla Jt. Organizing Secretary said that Neurophysiology being the subspecialty of neurology, deals with various nerve and muscle disorders. Besides interactive sessions, case discussions by all esteemed National and International faculty, special sessions were conducted for Technologists. Live sessions were also planned. She said that the 3rd day of the conference was dedicated to a sleep workshop, organised by Dr Manvir Bhatia and her team, with lectures and work stations.


Various debates, hands on  and skill workshops made this conference more interactive. More than 250 delegates from all over the country participated in this conference. IAN-CNP CON 2023 was an exciting, cutting edge, enriching academic feast, including didactic lectures on nerve conduction studies, individual common and uncommon nerves with case based approach, well appreciated by all the faculty, delegates and Technologists.
