Chandigarh, November 7, 2025: The Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh, today organised a pledge-taking ceremony to inaugurate the National Adoption Awareness Month-November 2025. The theme for the year 2025was “Adoption of Children having Special Needs.
Faculty Members, Research Scholars, and Students of the department gathered in Lecture Hall–1 to collectively take the pledge to promote legal adoption and safeguard the rights of children with special needs. The pledge emphasized inclusion, dignity, and equal opportunities for all children, recognizing their unique potential and the importance of providing them with a loving and permanent home.
The ceremony reflected the department’s commitment towards spreading awareness on ethical adoption practices and supporting the cause of children with special needs. The event concluded with a reaffirmation to be advocates of inclusion and compassion in society.
