Mumbai: As audiences increasingly seek stories that reflect authentic female experiences, three powerful creative voices are coming together to shape a narrative that is truly of women, by women, and for women. With Phool Pishi O Edward set to release this May, the film brings together , director Nandita Roy,  actor Raima Sen, and  writer Zinia Sen whose collaboration reflects a refreshing and meaningful perspective on feminism through cinema. Apparently, this shall be the first time that Raima shall collaborate with Windows Production.
The first look features Raima Sen, Sohini Sengupta, Konineeca Banerjee and Ananya Chatterjee in opulent avatars!
Produced by Windows Production, the film arrives at a time when conversations around women’s voices in storytelling are evolving. At the heart of this journey is writer Zinia Sen, who crafts a narrative rooted in emotional truth, complexity.
Director Nandita Roy, known for shaping relatable, culturally grounded stories, brings that vision to life with her distinctive storytelling sensibility.
Over the years, Nandita Roy has consistently championed narratives that center human relationships and social reflection, and with Phool Pishi O Edward, she once again turns the lens toward a story that places a woman’s inner world at the forefront.
Nandita shared, "This is for all the self-made women out there. Wishing you all a very Happy Women's Day, may all your dreams come true. For me, feminism in cinema is not about loud declarations, it is about portraying women with truth, complexity, warmth and agency. That is exactly what we hope audiences will experience with Phool Pishi O Edward."
Completing this powerful creative trio is Raima Sen, whose performance promises to embody the spirit of the film, layered, introspective, and deeply resonant.
Known for her ability to portray complex female characters with grace and intensity, Raima’s presence adds emotional depth to a narrative designed to celebrate women’s perspectives.
Raima added, "It was lovely working with Shibu and Nandita Di for the first time. It was an awesome experience. Nandita Di was extremely kind, caring and motherly and with Shibu it was like we were just laughing, gossiping and bingeing. They have a very systematic approach, we had no late hours, everyone was always on time. I have watched some of their films and really like their craft. I hope we get to collaborate on more films in the coming
Their collaboration stands as a celebration of women not just as characters on screen, but as the storytellers behind the story, reshaping how feminism is understood, felt, and experienced through cinema.
