Municipal Corporation, City Needs announces 'Daan Utsav' 5.0; to be organised from Oct 2 to Oct 8
Municipal Corporation (MC) in association with City Needs has announced the fifth edition of Daan Utsav —the Festival of Giving— in the city which will be organised from October 2 to October 8.
Ludhiana, September 17, 2026: Municipal Corporation (MC) in association with City Needs has announced the fifth edition of Daan Utsav —the Festival of Giving— in the city which will be organised from October 2 to October 8.
MC Assistant Commissioner Jasdev Singh Sekhon along with Founder City Needs Maneet Dewan announced the launching of Daan Utsav during a ceremony at Circuit House on Thursday. Harleen Kaur from Act Humane (Title Partner for Daan Utsav), SB Pandhi among others were present on the occasion.
Assistant Commissioner Jasdev Sekhon said that the 'Daan Utsav' is being organised under the guidance of Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur and MC Commissioner Ojasvi Alankar.
During this event, we collect both used and new materials from citizens through institutions, industries, and clubs. The collected items, which include clothes, books, shoes, electronics, bedding, grocery items, toys, utensils, e-waste and more, are then segregated and made available to matching NGOs, which would further distribute them among the needy persons in the society.
The collected material would also be distributed in slums through RRR centres and NGOs.
More than 70 Schools and Colleges, Clubs, Industry organizations etc. are participating in Daan Utsav. Also, 40+ collection centres have been established across the city where the residents.
The campaign brings together citizens, educational institutions, NGOs, industries, clubs and volunteers to help the needy persons.
Act Humane, Do Good Foundation and Mona Leaves Kyari, Marshal Aid Foundation, Leaf Berry, 1000thingsinLudhiana, Ek Noor Sewa Kender, MAAC Animation Institutions among others are supporting the initiative.
MC Assistant Commissioner Jasdev Singh Sekhon, Maneet Dewan from CityNeeds and Harleen Kaur from Act Humane appealed to the residents to step forward and participate in huge numbers in 'Daan Utsav' to bring smile on the faces of needy persons.
