Municipal Commissioner launches portrait depicting earthen lamp in nature’s lap message for citizens of Ludhiana to celebrate eco green Diwali

Ludhiana, November 10, 2023: Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sandeep Rishi, IAS today initiated a significant step highlighting the message for the respective citizens of Ludhiana to walk together on the path of Clean and Green Diwali celebrations, by launching a meaningful Portrait depicting Earthen Lamp beautifully blending with Mother Nature, with aim to spread the message to celebrate Diwali being festival of light, rather than a festival of noise and pollution. The portrait has been compiled by Harpreet Sandhu, former Additional Advocate General, Punjab and an eminent Nature Artist under the guidance of Padma Shri Dr. Surjit Patar, Chairman Punjab Arts Council – President Sewa Sankalp Society.

Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sandeep Rishi, while releasing the Portrait depicting Earthen Lamp beautifully blending with Nature, acknowledged the dedicated efforts initiated by Nature Artist Harpreet Sandhu to spread the befitting message of celebrating Eco Green Diwali within the citizens of Ludhiana in collaboration with Municipal Corporation. Noted poet Padma Shri Dr. Surjit Patar and Nature Artist Harpreet Sandhu were present during the launch of Portrait by MC Commissioner Ludhiana.

MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi, IAS further appealed to the respective citizens of Ludhiana to celebrate Diwali in the traditional way by lighting eco-friendly earthen lamps to signify the triumph of good over evil and pray that this festival of lights fill the atmosphere with the spirit of mirth and may the spirit of light illuminate all of us showing the path of peace and social harmony.
