MP Seechewal inspects STPs; issue necessary directions to ensure proper functioning
Reviewing the progress under the project to rejuvenate 'Buddha Dariya', Rajya Sabha MP Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal inspected the sewer treatment plants (STP) in the city on Friday.
Ludhiana, November 7, 2025: Reviewing the progress under the project to rejuvenate 'Buddha Dariya', Rajya Sabha MP Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal inspected the sewer treatment plants (STP) in the city on Friday.
The inspections were conducted at Bhattian, Balloke and Jamalpur STPs of the civic body. MP Seechewal also inspected the effluent treatment plant (ETP) established to treat the dairy waste in Haibowal dairy complex.
While inspecting the STPs, necessary directions were issued to ensure proper functioning of the plants and ensure that untreated waste should not get into the Dariya.
After the inspections, MP Seechewal also conducted a meeting with the officials at Jamalpur STP to review the progress. ADC Rupinderpal Singh, MC Assistant Commissioner Neeraj Jain, SE Ekjot Singh, SE Parul Goyal among other officials of the civic body, police, PPCB, drainage department among others were present during the meeting.
MP Seechewal also directed the officials to ensure proper functioning of CETPs and ETPs established to treat dyeing industry waste and dairy waste respectively.
MP Seechewal stated that regular efforts are being put in to improve the ecological health of 'Buddha Dariya'. The state government led by Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to make 'Rangla Punjab' and collective efforts are being made to achieve the target. He also appealed to the residents to support the authorities in rejuvenating Buddha Dariya.
