MP Ravneet Singh Bittu holds meeting with mayor, MC Commissioner regarding cremation of covid19 affected persons

Ludhiana: Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu today held a detailed meeting with Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu and Commissioner Municipal corporation Ludhiana Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal regarding the issue of cremation of deceased Covid 19 patients.

A special committee has been formed in which Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal is chairman and DFSC, DFO, Secretary RTA are members.

MP Bittu said that due to the increase in number of deaths over the last few days, the District Administration has already issued orders that the cremation can take place at any cremation ground in the city.

He said that a Control Room has also been set up at Civil Hospital Ludhiana to help the families in the cremation of Covid-19 patients like aiding in family rituals, PPE kits, sanitization etc. This control room will be run by officials from Municipal Corporation, food & civil supplies and Samvedna trust. He said that the control room would function in 2 shifts- from 6 am to 2 pm and 2 pm to 10 pm. Seven vehicles have also been added by Samvedna Trust so that there is no shortage of vehicles for cremation of the deceased persons.
