MP Manish Tewari asks officials to ensure everyone gets benefits of government schemes

Nawanshahr, May 27, 2022: Sri Anandpur Sahib Member of Parliament (MP) Manish Tewari on Friday asked the officials to create awareness about central government funding schemes to ensure every eligible can avail benefit of programs.

Presiding over a meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) in district administrative complex, MP accompanied by Banga MLA Dr Sukhwinder Sukhi, Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa, reviewed implementation of union Government sponsored schemes and said that there still many people in the interior parts of the district who are not aware about of development and social welfare schemes which the officers must organise camps so that such persons at grassroots can enrolled themselves in the schemes.

He said that officials must listen to problems being faced by the people coming to their offices and ensure they must not go without being heard. Tewari said that key departments including Health, Education, Panchayat, Social Justice, Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities, MCs, Agriculture, PSPCL, Water Supply and Sanitation and other witness huge rush of public daily and these departments must play an active role to facilitate the people.

MP asked the ADC (D) Amardeep Singh Bains and Lead Bank to prepare the proposal for starting Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) from the building of Government Polytechnic College in Behram to impart training and upgradation of skill in rural youth to make them self-reliant. He also asked the officers to execute the work in a time-bound manner. He also underlined the need for encouraging Self Help Groups by running special drive for setting up such groups in villages to empower the women.

Tewari also stressed on need for optimum utilization of MG-NREGA scheme for uplifting the rural infrastructure.
On advice of Banga MLA, Dr S K Sukhi that every child in Anganwari centre must be examined for hearing, MP said that he would release the funds for purchasing hearing testing equipment to Nawanshahr, Banga and Balachaur civil hospitals.

Similarly on the request of Civil Surgeon Dr Davinder Dhanda, Tewari also assured funding of dead body freezer for Banga civil hospital from his MPLAD scheme. 

Sri Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha MP also asked the Civil Surgeon to ensure proper medical facilities are provided to the residents in government hospitals of district.

Further, Tewari asked the Public Works Department to ensure quality work and timely completion of Banga-Anandpur Sahib road of which state government had issued Rs 66 lakh.

He said that officers/ officials should dedicatedly work to make sure that underprivileged and weaker stratum of society avails the benefits of state government’s policies.
