MP Deepender Hooda accuses BJP of forming the government in Haryana by stealing votes

Rohtak, October 4, 2025: Lok Sabha MP Deepender Hooda participated in a protest organized by the Rohtak District Congress Committee against vote theft on Saturday. Chanting slogans of “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod”, Congress workers marched on foot from Ambedkar Chowk to Bhiwani Stand. Haryana Pradesh Congress co-incharge Jitendra Baghel, MLAs Bharat Bhushan Batra, Shakuntala Khatak, and Balram Dangi, former minister Subhash Batra, Chakravarti Sharma, and local Congress leaders and workers were present.

During the protest, the MP said that "vote theft" is an attack on the basic democratic principle of one person, one vote. Ordinary Haryanvis cannot understand how the Congress, which was ahead in more than 75 seats when the ballot papers were counted, fell behind as soon as the machines were opened. He said that not only votes were stolen in Haryana, but power was stolen. The government in Haryana was formed not by public sentiment but by vote theft. Public sentiment was for change in Haryana, but the BJP stole that sentiment as well. He said that the vote theft in Haryana will be exposed soon with facts.

The MP said that Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has exposed the irregularities in the country's electoral process and voter lists, with evidence, to the entire nation, through the collusion of the ruling BJP and the Election Commission. The BJP formed the governments in Haryana and Maharashtra through vote theft. Although Congress lost the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Nanded Lok Sabha seat by-election was held on the same day. When the results came in, the BJP won the Assembly elections and Congress won the Lok Sabha elections. This happened because the BJP, preoccupied with the Assembly elections, forgot to set the Lok Sabha machines.

Deepender Hooda said that the Election Commission of India is acting as an assistant to the BJP. The BJP is using the Election Commission to gain power through various means, including coercion, bribery, and manipulation. In the last 15 assembly elections in Haryana, Congress received the highest percentage of votes in 2024. The BJP is usurping the right to vote guaranteed by the Constitution and directly attacking the Constitution and democracy. He appealed to everyone to join forces to fight this battle and save the country's democracy.
