More than 300 saplings planted by KMVites

Jalandhar, September 1, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organized Mass Tree Plantation drive. The drive was carried out under the state government's initiative 'Nanak Bagichi Program' to create environmental awareness by planting the saplings on 550th Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The drive was organized by Sapling of Life Club- an Eco club of KMV.
The motto behind this mega initiative is to reduce air pollution & minimize the effects of global warming which has reached at alarming level. Enthusiastic KMVites planted more than 50 saplings of Neem, Ashwagandha, Gulmohar in the college premises. The students also planted 300 saplings in the areas of nearly residential colonies and the villages to raise awareness and consciousness about the environment conservation among the masses.
Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that the drive was a huge success as it empowered the students with substantial knowledge of plantation & also simultaneously enhancing their social skills. She also appreciated the students and the faculty members for participating in such environment awareness drive.
