Mohandai Oswal Hospital celebrated “Raktdan Amrit Mahotsav”

Ludhiana, September 19, 2022: Mohandai Oswal Hospital, Ludhiana participated in  “Mega Blood Donation Drive’, on the occasion ‘Rakhtdan Amrit Mahotsav’ which marks 72nd birthday celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and 58th foundation day for Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad. This year’s slogan is “Donating blood is an act of solidarity, Join the effort and save life” which draws attention towards creating wider public awareness of the need for regular, unpaid blood donation as well as thanking our blood donors all over the world.

Dr Gurkiran Kaur, MD IHBT Consultant & Blood Transfusion officer of Mohandai Oswal Hospital informed that the event not only aims at collecting blood units but also building a data bank on online platform for future reference and to meet emergencies. The need for blood is universal, but access to blood for all those who need it is not. Blood shortages are particularly acute in low- and middle-income countries. Moreover, the pandemic has disrupted the blood donation services during these last 2 years. This mega donation drive aimed to make the country blood efficient.

On this occasion, Chairman Jawaharlal Oswal conveys his best wishes for healthy life and prosperity of our precious blood donors, who are always ready to help the patients in their hour of need.

Dr Murtuza Habib (Director-Medical Services) and Yogendra Awadhiya (Director-Operations) also extended their gratitude to our blood donors.

A total of 42 blood units were collected during the camp.
