Model Rocketry Workshop at Pushpa Gujaral Science City Kapurthala

Students participate in Model Rocketry Workshop at Pushpa Gujaral Science City Kapurthala.

Kapurthala, May 16, 2014: A three days Model Rocketry Workshop catalysed and supported by National Council of Science, Technology, Communications, New Delhi  was conducted at Pushpa Gujral Science City (PGSC), Kaputhala from May 13 to 15.

The workshop was organised with an aim to make students understand basic principles, develop experimental skills and instill creativity and innovation in an informal way. The workshop also intended to update participants about various aspects of Rocket Science including demonstration on process of making model rockets. The participants learnt to make single and double stage rockets and launch them in the air. Above all, it was an opportunity for the participants to learn the importance of accuracy while designing a machine and develop team spirit. M.P. Deomurari  former scientist of Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad and   Neel Shah from  Model Rocketry Club – India, Ahmedabad gave valuable tips to the  participants for making the model of Rockets. More than  40 students belonging to standard of XI and XII from all over Punjab participated in this workshop. 

Dr. R.S. Khandpur, Director General, PGSC was the Chief Guest on this occasion and in his valedictory address said that this workshop is an opportunity for the participants to think out of box and learn away from their text books while having fun and enjoyment. Dr. Rajesh Grover, Director, PGSC was also present on this occasion.
