MLAs launch cleanliness drive in constituencies

With the aim of keeping the urban and rural areas clean and free from diseases after heavy rainfall, MLAs Jivan Singh Sangowal and Hakam Singh Thekedaar carried out special cleanliness drive in their constituencies on Monday.

Ludhiana, Sep 15,2025: With the aim of keeping the urban and rural areas clean and free from diseases after heavy rainfall, MLAs Jivan Singh Sangowal and Hakam Singh Thekedaar carried out special cleanliness drive in their constituencies on Monday. 

Sangowal himself participated in the cleanliness drive, removing debris from the streets of Rajapur village. He urged the villagers to join hands in keeping the village clean and green. 

Similarly, a special cleanliness drive was also conducted in the villages of Barmi, Littar, and Burj Hakima was carried out by Raikot MLA Hakam Singh Thekedar.

The MLAs stated that on the directions of Punjab government, a cleanliness campaign has been initiated to keep cities, towns, and villages clean and disease-free. Under this campaign, streets and drains are being cleaned, and efforts are being made to ensure proper drainage of stagnant rrainwater They called upon the people to collectively take responsibility for maintaining cleanliness and greenery in their surroundings. They stressed that the success of the cleanliness campaign depends on the full cooperation of the local residents. 

Meanwhile, MLA Sangowal went door-to-door to assess the damage caused to roofs due to heavy rains in Rajapur and Khaira Bet. He also issued immediate directives to officials to conduct inspections and provide prompt financial assistance to the affected residents.
