MLA Sidhu, MC Chief inspect ongoing works to establish leisure valley and waterfront project (phase 2) alongside Sidhwan canal

Ludhiana, April 5, 2023: Atam Nagar MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu and Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Dr Shena Aggarwal inspected the ongoing works to establish the leisure valley and waterfront project (phase 2) alongside Sidhwan canal on Wednesday.

Sidhwan canal waterfront phase-2 is being developed alongside the canal starting from Jawaddi canal bridge till Dugri canal bridge at a cost of around Rs 5.07 crore. Similarly, the leisure valley is being established from Dugri canal bridge till Dhuri railway crossing alongside the canal at a cost of around Rs 3.14 crore. 

The authorities stated that most of the work has been done and both the projects would be completed before Baisakhi. 

MLA Sidhu stated that open gym, swings etc have also been installed in the leisure valley. A number of development projects are being taken up in Atam Nagar constituency and special emphasis is being given to spread green cover. 

Earlier MLA Sidhu and MC Commissioner Dr Aggarwal also inaugurated the project to reconstruct the road from ATI chowk till Dhuri railway crossing at a cost of Rs 99 lakh. 

MLA Sidhu stated that the stretch was in bad condition for a long time and residents had raised the issue before him. The authorities have been directed to complete the project within stipulated time period and keep a check on the quality of works.
