MLA Sidhu launches cleanliness drive with focus on regular cleaning of road gullies   

Ludhiana, July 10, 2023: With an aim to ensure regular cleaning of road gullies during monsoon season and removal of dirt/filth from road sides, Atam Nagar MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu launched a cleanliness drive from Chimney road (Gill road) on Monday.

 Accompanied by MC Joint Commissioner Kulpreet Singh, MLA Sidhu also inspected the ongoing works to clean the road gullies. Directions were issued to avoid waterlogging during the monsoon season. 

MLA Sidhu stated that the civic body has been cleaning the road gullies on a regular basis and the officials have been directed to ensure that there are no discrepancies in the same.
  
He stated that the drive will continue in the coming days and other areas of the constituency will also be covered in the coming days. Regular field inspections will be done and strict departmental action will be taken against the officials, if any anomalies are found especially in the process to clean the road gullies.

MLA Sidhu also appealed to the residents to stop the use of banned plastic carry bags and single use plastic items. He stated that plastic carry bags and other single use plastic items choke the drain lines, due to which waterlogging is also witnessed in the area during the rainy season.
