Ludhiana, April 27, 2022: Ludhiana (South) MLA Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina today warned the residents not to fall prey to an ongoing scam relating to filling of forms for Rs 1,000 per month pension for women, that was announced by AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal.

In a press statement issued today, MLA Chhina said that some persons with vested interests are playing with emotions of residents by organising fake camps in their private properties. She said that some bank officials also participate in such camps, that is totally illegal.

She informed that she came to know of one such “camp” being organised in a private office in Jeeto Market in Main Satguru Nagar area of Ludhiana (South) constituency. She said that the organisers had misguided the women by claiming that only those, who fill forms in their office today, would be eligible for Rs 1,000 per month pension.

“This is totally wrong and illegal act on behalf of the organisers and would not be tolerated as I have been receiving such complaints in the past as well,” she said while adding that she has also police complaint when matter of this illegal “camp” came to her notice today. The MLA immediately rushed to the spot and informed the public present there of this illegal act.

She also urged the residents to remain vigilant as official camps in this regard would be organised only in public places in presence of elected MLAs. She said that whenever the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab government starts this scheme, all eligible beneficiaries would themselves start getting this pension.
