MLA Prashar, zonal commissioners visit Dhokka Mohalla, Dharampura area to make advance preparations before monsoon hits city

Ludhiana, June 4, 2026: Before monsoon hits the city, Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi along with Zonal Commissioners Amanpreet Singh and Neeraj Jain conducted inspection at Dhokka Mohalla, Dharampura, Ranjit park among other areas on Thursday to make advance preparations for avoiding waterlogging during the rainy season. 
During the inspection, strict directions were issued to expedite the work of establishing retaining walls around the Dharampura nullah. Establishing retaining walls is part of the ongoing overall project to cover the Dharampura nullah. The aim is to stop the overflow of water into the residential areas during the monsoon season. 
MLA Prashar was accompanied by MC Joint Commissioner-cum-Zonal Commissioner (Zone A) Amanpreet Singh, Assistant Commissioner-cum-Zonal Commissioner (Zone B) Neeraj Jain among other senior officials of O&M cell, B&R branch were present during the inspection. 
MLA Prashar stated that he has been rigorously working to bring relief to the residents living in low lying areas around Buddha Dariya including Dhokka Mohalla, Dharampura, Ranjit park etc. Directions have also been issued to expedite the overall project to cover Dharampura drain. 
MLA Prashar stated that the officials have been directed to speed up the work to establish retaining walls. If needed, more labour should be deployed at the site. He stated that he has been regularly monitoring the situation and every effort is being made to stop waterlogging in the low lying areas. 
MLA Prashar further stated that working under the guidance of Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwant Singh Mann, they have been working towards sustainable development and to facilitate the public at large. He stated that no laxity would be tolerated at ground level and he will again be conducting inspection in these areas in the coming days.
