Ludhiana, September 29, 2025: Lambasting the Daresi mela contractor for levelling baseless allegations against him, Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi stated that he is filing a defamation case is being filed against the contractor for damaging his image.
Addressing the media at circuit house on Monday, MLA Prashar stated that he is also seeking a vigilance inquiry into how a class IV employee got Rs 1.5 crore contract of Daresi mela. Proper inquiry would be conducted as a government employee cannot even work as a contractor.
MLA Prashar stated that the entire 'Drama' was orchestrated to damage his image in the society. But the public knows the truth that he has been serving the society at large. He further slammed the contractor for charging 'Gunda tax' from the vendors. MLA Prashar further stated that even the entire Daresi mela was organised without required permissions from the administration.
Stating that they are 'Sanatanis' by heart and they follow and respect 'Sanatana Dharam', MLA Prashar slammed MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and other opposition leaders for disrespecting the 'Sanatan Dharma' by stopping the ancient 'Dola yatra' of Lord Ram for taking political mileage.
MLA Prashar stated that they themselves have been organising Balaji Rath Yatra on Hanuman Jayanti for years now and they feel pity for the opposition leaders who are trying to take political mileage out of this issue.

MLA Prashar stated that these baseless allegations cannot stop him from serving the public at large and he will seek proper vigilance inquiry against the contractor. The defamation case would also be filed in the coming days.
Senior Deputy Mayor Rakesh Prashar, AAP District President Jatinder Khangura, AAP leader Paramveer Prince, Deputy Mayor Prince Johar among other councillors and leaders were present during the press conference in large numbers.
