MLA Grewal presents a "major gift" to residents of Rahon Road: Work begins on rainwater drainage system

Ludhiana, October 24, 2026: Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal, MLA from the Ludhiana East assembly constituency, along with Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur and Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Dr Ankur Mahindroo, presented a Diwali gift to the residents of Rahon Road by inaugurating the project for installation of a pipeline for rainwater drainage—a project costing approximately Rs 8.5 crore. 
Speaking to journalists on this occasion, MLA Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal congratulated the residents of Rahon Road and the surrounding areas, stating that their biggest problem is now being resolved. He remarked that this has only been made possible thanks to their blessings. He noted that the issue of Rahon Road—the most significant problem in the East constituency, which had remained unresolved for 40 years—frequently made newspaper headlines. While every political party promised to address it during elections, none ever followed through. 
Criticizing the previous governments, MLA Grewal stated that previous governments and their representatives claimed to have carried out development projects worth thousands of crores on paper, yet the reality was worlds apart. In contrast, he highlighted that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government under the guidance of National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwant Singh Mann has created history by fully delivering on 100 percent of the guarantees it made to the people of the state.
MLA Grewal stated that if the public continues to extend their trust and blessings, he and his entire team will ensure that the Ludhiana East constituency faces no shortcomings in terms of development. 
Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur and Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Ankur Mahindroo remarked that the completion of this project would bring significant relief to Rahon Road and its surrounding areas. They added that they would make every effort to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe.
