MLA Bagga, MC Chief issue directions for removal of encroachments and expedition of project to construct road on other side of buddha nullah  

Ludhiana, February 14, 2024: For expediting the development projects including the project to construct a road on the other side of buddha nullah, Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga and Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Sandeep Rishi conducted a meeting at MC Zone A office on Wednesday. 

During the meeting, directions were issued to the concerned officials to expedite the work of constructing the road on the other side of the nullah and removal of encroachments, which are becoming a hurdle in the project. 

Apart from civic body officials working in different branches of MC, the officials of revenue department, PWD among others were also present in the meeting. 

On Wednesday, MC Zone D team also removed around 15 encroachments on the banks of buddha nullah, which were creating hindrance in the project to construct the road. The encroachments were removed from the stretch starting from Chander Nagar puli till Kundanpuri puli.

The officials stated that demarcation of remaining encroachments is also being done and those will also be removed in the coming days. 

MLA Bagga said that a positive discussion was also held with the area residents who have encroached upon the land alongside buddha nullah. They have been asked to prove their ownership over the land or remove the encroachments by themselves, otherwise MC will be forced to take action and demolish the encroachments.

MLA Bagga said that construction of the road on the other side of the nullah will also benefit the area residents in different ways. It will also streamline the movement of traffic in the area. 

MLA Bagga said that the concerned officials have also been directed to expedite different ongoing projects in North constituency. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led state government is committed for overall development of the state and quality infrastructure is being developed to facilitate the residents.
