MLA Ashok Prashar inaugurates first of kind box cricket ground in Ludhiana central constituency

Ludhiana, September 24, 2025: With an aim to develop sports culture among the youth, Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi inaugurated the first of its kind box cricket ground in Ludhiana central constituency on Wednesday.
Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur, Senior Deputy Mayor Rakesh Prashar, councillor Surinder Kaur Manna, councillor Simran Raju Baba, councillor Pardeep Gaby, councillor Nikku Bharti among other leaders/ward incharges and residents of the area were also present during the inauguration ceremony.
The box cricket ground has been established in Ranjit Park area (adj. Zone B office of MC) of ward number 81. It has been established at a cost of around Rs 26 lakh and sports kits including bats/wickets etc have also been provided for the youngsters to play.
MLA Prashar stated that working under the leadership of Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state government is working towards sustainable development.
MLA Prashar further stated that this ground provides a safe environment for the residents/youngsters to play. Apart from nets installed around the ground, proper lighting arrangements have also been made. He further stated that wherever possible, they will also establish more such grounds in the central constituency.
MLA Prashar stated that steps are being taken to upgrade the infrastructure in Ludhiana Central constituency. He appealed to the residents to take as much benefit of the facility.
