Chandigarh, August 20, 2015: AirAsia today announced the appointment of Mittu Chandilya as Managing Director of AirAsia India in addition to his role as Chief Executive Officer. The AirAsia India Board appointed Chandilya as the Managing Director and the first full time independent Executive Director of the company.
Mr.S.Ramadorai, Chairman, AirAsia India said, "I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mittu on being unanimously chosen by the AirAsia India Board to become the Managing Director in addition to his current role as the CEO. He has managed to propel the airline forward in terms of its scale of operations and turn every challenge into an opportunity by building an agile and secure operations structure. Chandilya made history when he became a CEO at 32, the youngest CEO of a scheduled airline in India and one where he was the first employee in a clean-sheet start up.
