Mission Swasth Kavach trains ASHA workers, ANMs, and Community Health Officers
Under the India-EMS Project supported by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Christian Medical College (CMC), Ludhiana, in collaboration with the health department, conducted block-level emergency care training under “Mission Swasth Kavach” in block Sudhar to strengthen community-based emergency medical services.
Ludhiana, May 21, 2026: Under the India-EMS Project supported by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Christian Medical College (CMC), Ludhiana, in collaboration with the health department, conducted block-level emergency care training under “Mission Swasth Kavach” in block Sudhar to strengthen community-based emergency medical services.
The training focused on equipping ASHA workers, ANMs, and Community Health Officers (CHOs) with essential life-saving skills including CPR, first aid, awareness regarding 108 ambulance services, and timely emergency response during the critical “platinum minutes.” The initiative is being led by Dr. Jeyaraj D.
Pandian along with the India-EMS team in coordination with district administration and health officials, aims to create trained first responders at the village level and strengthen emergency healthcare systems across Punjab.
