Mission Fateh: 14125 samples for COVID-19 taken in Ludhiana district

Ludhiana:

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma today informed that under the “Mission Fateh” of the Punjab government, the number of COVID-19 patients getting cured in district Ludhiana is increasing with each passing day. He said that there are 5226 active patients in the district at present.

He said that sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid-19. He said that a total of 401 patients (343 new patients from district Ludhiana and 58 from other states/districts) have tested positive in the last 24 hours.

He further said that till date, a total of 1343511 samples have been taken, out of which a report of 1343106 samples have been received, of which 1248615 samples were found negative while reports of 464 samples were pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 83594, while 10897 patients belong to other districts/states.

He said that unfortunately, 24 patients lost their lives today (14 from district Ludhiana, 3 from Sangrur, 2 from Ferozepur while one each from districts Jalandhar, Moga, Barnala, Nawanshahar and state Jammu & Kashmir). Now, the total number of persons who lost their lives including 1979 people from Ludhiana and 977 from other districts.

He said that whenever the District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Similarly, 14125 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma appealed to the residents to adhere all the safety protocols like wearing masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands frequently of the Punjab government to not only save themselves but keeping everyone around safe.
