Mission Clean Punjab: MLA South Chhina, MC Chief Alankar conduct field inspection; issue strict directions to ensure cleanliness, regular cleaning of sewer lines

Ludhiana, July 16, 2026: Moving forward under 'Mission Clean Punjab', Ludhiana South MLA Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina and Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Ojasvi Alankar conducted field inspections in different areas falling under the south constituency on Thursday morning.
The inspections were conducted in Sherpur village, Dhandari, Metro road, Dhandari BSUP flats, 100 feet road among other areas. Zonal Commissioner Gurpal Singh among other officials of MC's health branch were present during the inspection.
During the field inspection, MLA Chhina and MC Commissioner Alankar issued strict directions to ensure cleanliness. Further the concerned officials have also been directed to ensure regular cleaning of sewer lines especially in the low lying areas.
Apart from this, strict directions have been issued for regular cleaning of road gullies and for developing parks/green belts. The officials have been directed to rope in industrialists for redeveloping parks/green belts in their surrounding areas.
MLA South Chhina and MC Commissioner Alankar said that working under the guidance of Local Bodies Minister Harjot Singh Bains, rigorous steps are being taken to ensure cleanliness across the city. They stated that the residents should also support the authorities in keeping the city clean by not dumping waste in the open.
MC Commissioner Alankar said that the civic body is taking up extensive projects for desilting main sewer lines in the city. The authorities have also been directed to monitor the internal areas on a regular basis too, so that the residents should not face any problem at the ground level.
