Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Selects Lyallpur Khalsa College Professor as Member of National Committee
Upholding its commitment to academic excellence and holistic development, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, achieved yet another milestone as the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, selected Prof. Satpal Singh, NSS Programme Officer of the college, as a member of the National Committee constituted to review the NSS Manual 2006.
Jalandhar, October 25, 2025: Upholding its commitment to academic excellence and holistic development, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, achieved yet another milestone as the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, selected Prof. Satpal Singh, NSS Programme Officer of the college, as a member of the National Committee constituted to review the NSS Manual 2006.
Principal Prof. Navdeep Kaur congratulated Prof. Satpal Singh on this prestigious recognition, stating that it is a matter of great pride for the institution to have its faculty member included in the 16-member national team. She further highlighted that Prof. Satpal Singh is the only professor representing all colleges and universities under the Chandigarh Directorate, including Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, in this committee.
Expressing his views, Prof. Satpal Singh said that the NSS Manual 2006 needs to be revised in accordance with the contemporary educational and social requirements. He assured that he would contribute his best to this important national responsibility and informed that the committee would submit its recommendations to the Ministry within a month.
During the occasion, the Chief Programme Officer of NSS extended heartfelt thanks to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, the Regional Directorate, Chandigarh, the State NSS Cell, Punjab, and the President and Principal of the Governing Council for their continued support and encouragement.
Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, Head, Department of Commerce, was also present on the occasion.
