Ministry of Textiles-backed Chintan Shivir to Launch National Flag Recycling and Transfer Aramid Tech to Boost Technical Textile Exports

New Delhi, November 25, 2025: The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), in collaboration with the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, is organizing a high-level Chintan Shivir (Deliberation Camp) on Friday, 28th November 2025, at Geeta Sarovar Portico, G T Road, Panipat.

The event, themed "Panipat's Textile Industry's Technical Transformation: High Value, Better Tomorrow," marks a pivotal step toward cementing Panipat's position as an important hub for the manufacturing and export of technical textiles, contributing significantly to the national economy and Vision 2047 goals.

The Shivir will feature an impressive lineup of policymakers and industry experts from the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, NITRA, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), IIT Delhi, IIT Mandi, banks, institutions and manufacturers demonstrating the government's strong commitment to assist and fund entrepreneurs under various schemes of the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM).

A major highlight of the Shivir will be the launch and showcase of advanced recycling technology developed under the NTTM framework, coordinated by IIT Delhi.

The Atal Center of Textile Recycling and Sustainability, established in Panipat under the supervision of IIT Delhi's leadership, has achieved major breakthroughs in sustainable textile innovation. The Centre supports high-performance waste recycling, startup prototyping, and is driving the initiatives of National Flag Recycling Initiative Launch. The Shivir will officially launch the one-of-a-kind National Flag Recycling Initiative, undertaken by the Sewaj Neesim Foundation. This initiative promotes the respectful and responsible recycling of retired Indian flags through advanced textile recycling processes. The Centre has successfully completed a technology transfer to Sewaj Neesim Foundation for this unique process.

The Centre's Aramid Fiber recycling program will be showcased, demonstrating pioneering solutions for processing and repurposing high-performance aramid waste materials, benefiting several technical textile companies.

The Chintan Shivir is specifically designed to benefit a wide array of stakeholders, including MSME units, owners, startups, decision-makers, labs, hotels, hospitals, recyclers, and institutes. The core sessions will deliberate on critical topics essential for sustainable growth, including:
