Jalandhar: In a major achievement of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (KMV), Ministry of   Jal Shakti, Government of India under the leadership of Mr Gajendra Singh Shekhawat honoured KMV for the various environment conservation efforts of the students. In its e-magazine titled Jal Charcha (June edition), the ministry mentioned that KMV is the epitome of women empowerment in India since the beginning of the 20th century. The ministry also lauded the college for the various environment conservation activities carried out in the college including the Save Water campaign launched in the college by Mr Manpreet Badal, Finance Minister, Punjab. The magazine also appreciated the college for establishing a group of students called Water Warriors in order to spread awareness about the Conservation of Water. It also mentioned about the  celebration of various environment & biodiversity related days in the college in which students of KMV participate in various activities. It is important to mention that KMV from time to time keep on organising various tree plantation drives & Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan campaign in order to contribute positively to the society. Moreover, the ministry also posted a picture of a student of KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School depicting the importance of water on it’s official Facebook page. The magazine also carried a beautiful poem written by Pawanpreet Kaur Mannan, a student of MA Economics Sem IV of KMV. 
Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the students on their achievements. She averred that KMV gives utmost priority to the cause of environment conservation & sustainable development and we always motivate the students to spread awareness about this cause in the society so that younger generation should feel their responsibility towards the society. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Madhumeet, Dean, Department of Student Welfare & Mrs Sadhna Tandon, Head, Department of Zoology & Ms Suffalica for motivating the students for all these initiatives.
