Ludhiana, June 19, 2022: Department of Anaesthesiology, DMCH, Ludhiana organised workshop-cum-CME on Ultrasound Guided Pain Procedures. The esteemed faculty who graced the event were Dr. Ruchi Gupta, HOD, Department of Anaesthesia, SGRD, Amritsar, Dr  Babita Ghai , Professor & I/c  Chronic Pain Services, PGIMER, Chandigarh & Dr.  Siddharth Verma, Associate Professor in D.Y. Patil University School of  Medicine  Navi Mumbai.

The guest of honour, Prem Kumar Gupta, Secretary, DMCH Managing Society highlighted the role of anaesthesiologist in alleviating pain and congratulated the department for organising  this unique workshop.

Dr.Anju Grewal, Prof. & Head, Department of Anaesthesiology welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of ultrasound in providing high quality care services. Dr.M.Rupinder Singh, Professor Anaesthesia, DMCH & organizing Secretary conducted the live workshop  on musculoskeletal nerve  blocks. Dr.Suneet Kant Kathuria, Professor Anesthesia, DMCH delivered talk on non – surgical techniques for management back pain.

The CME focused on importance of Ultrasound Guided non- invasive pain relief methods in the hands of the anesthesiologists.  Ultrasound has emerged as a valuable tool to visualize various pathologies of shoulder joint, knee joint and spine. It helps to make a diagnosis and give precision treatment so as to make the patient pain free in his daily activities.
