Minerva's Vineet Rai will play for Mumbai City

Mohali, July 12, 2022: Midfielder Vineet Rai, who has played for Minerva Academy FC, will continue his journey for Mumbai City FC in the Indian Super League (ISL). Mumbai City extended his loan, he had earlier played for Odisha and Rai was taken on loan by Mumbai from them. He has also played for the Indian senior team with India Under-23.

Vineet played the 2017-18 I-League season for Minerva and got a chance to play in four matches. Ranjit Bajaj, owner of Minerva Academy said that he is a good footballer and walks into the match with all his might. He has given strength to our team and now they will strengthen Mumbai too. He will continue his journey with Mumbai till the 2022-23 season.

Vineet, who hails from Assam, wore the Mumbai jersey in January 2022 and has played 10 matches for them so far. He played for the club in the 2022 AFC Champions League when the team finished second in the group stage. He played 5 out of 6 matches for Mumbai in Asia's Premier Club Championship in April.

Vineet made his ISL debut in 2016. Vineet Rai said that the last six months of my career with Mumbai City were wonderful and I got to learn a lot as a footballer. I am happy that I am going to continue my journey with the team. Along with playing well in the league, I shared the ground with many players from Mumbai. We played at the top level in Asia and now we will continue this journey.
