Minerva Academy delivered yet another record-breaking performance in the AIFF Sub-Junior League, dismantling Mother’s Pride Football Academy 18–0 to complete a resounding double over the opposition this season. The result follows their earlier 17–0 away victory, reaffirming Minerva’s attacking supremacy and remarkable consistency in the competition.
Chandigarh: Minerva Academy delivered yet another record-breaking performance in the AIFF Sub-Junior League, dismantling Mother’s Pride Football Academy 18–0 to complete a resounding double over the opposition this season. The result follows their earlier 17–0 away victory, reaffirming Minerva’s attacking supremacy and remarkable consistency in the competition.
Having already defeated Mother’s Pride comprehensively in the reverse fixture, Minerva once again showcased ruthless efficiency and structured attacking play. Despite dominating possession from the outset, the breakthrough arrived in the 28th minute, when Rimoson calmly opened the scoring, setting the tone for an extraordinary goal-scoring display.
Once the deadlock was broken, Minerva accelerated the tempo with relentless pressing and swift transitions. A flurry of goals before halftime ensured the hosts went into the break with a commanding 5–0 lead.
The second half witnessed impactful substitutions, as fresh legs injected renewed intensity into Minerva’s attacking structure. The changes stretched the opposition’s defensive setup and created sustained pressure in the final third.
Ngayaiza led the charge with a clinical hat-trick, while Bickson also struck three times, capitalising on precise build-up play and intelligent positioning inside the box.
Rimoson completed a brace, and captain Akash Yumnam added two well-taken goals. The standout performance came from Mukhtar, who produced a sensational four-goal haul, combining sharp movement, composure, and lethal finishing.
By the final whistle, Minerva Academy had registered a staggering 18–0 victory, further underlining their dominance in the Sub-Junior League campaign.
With this result, Minerva have now scored an astonishing 55 goals in just five matches, averaging 11 goals per game, while maintaining impressive defensive discipline. Their attacking depth, effective squad rotation, and tactical organisation continue to set the benchmark at the youth level.
The Warriors now shift focus to a crucial encounter against Punjab FC in an away fixture on February 24 at the Roundglass Sports Academy. The upcoming clash is expected to provide a significant test as Minerva aim to maintain momentum and extend their remarkable run in the league.
